What if I finish my work before/after the prompt’s day?
That’s perfectly alright! If your work is early, you can still submit it in our submissions box or post it anyway! We’ll just wait till the specified day to post! If your work is late, we’ll try to post as quick as we can!
Alright, let’s sum up some stuff I can talk about off the top of my head:
The “> You decided to XY”-style narrations from Persona 3 and 4 are gone. They have been replaced by Morgana commenting on the protagonists’ every action. So in other words; Morgana is the narrator of the game.
Social Links have been renamed “Cooperation”, as previously hinted. (In Japanese, they were previously named “Community”.) Apparently they’re a lot more interactive and tied into the story now. Also, they are fully voiced.
The owner of the coffee shop the protagonist lives in is the Hierophant Arcana Cooperation, Sojiro Sakura. His last name suggests he’s related to Futaba, meaning it’s possible that the protagonist and Futaba live in the same house. If he’s her father, that makes for an interesting parallel between Sojiro and Futaba Sakura with Ryotaro and Nanako Dojima from Persona 4.
All Arcana Cards have been redesigned. They look badass.
The enemies are Shadows who are “channeling” Demons, somehow. I am not entirely sure how it works, but judged by the dialogue during the videos shown, the enemies are treated as “nameless Shadows” first, which are known only by a rough description of their appearance. If you get all enemies down and launch an All Out Attack, one of the enemies might stop you from attacking, starting a Demon Contact. If you refuse, the All Out Attack will commence anyway, but if you accept, you enter into a P1/2/SMT-style enemy conversation, which, if done correctly, culminates in the “Shadow” remembering that it is actually not a Shadow, but a Demon (the Silky in the clip outright says that she is not truely a Shadow at that point), and calling out its own true name. Upon doing so, you will receive a Persona based on that Demon. There is probably a story reason why nameless Demons, deceived into thinking that they are Shadows, are roaming the Palaces.
(I am not sure about this one, I only saw the screenshot in question very briefly.) When executing an All Out Attack, you apparently get a choice between three different kinds of All Out Attack: “Use your Powers”, “Do Whatever” and “Weapons only”.Â
The final kid on the boxart is called “Goro Akechi”, a reference to the fictional detective “Kogoro Akechi” from Japanese literature. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because Kogoro Mouri from Detective Conan was named after him as well. Justine compares Goro to Naoto, outright saying that the public calls him “The Second Coming of the Detective Prince”. However, Goro seems a lot more spotlight-happy than Naoto, merrily hosting a talkshow like it was nobody’s business. He appears to be very charming and upbeat.
Caroline absolutely LOATHES not only the protagonist, but the entire party, and roots for their downfall at any occasion. Her hatred really seems downright cartoonish at times. She seems to see them as nothing but dirty criminals who deserve the chair. Interestingly, she also calls Justine “Onore”. “Onore” is sometimes used as derogatory slang for “You”, but actually means “Me”. This might hint that these two are more than just “twins”…
